How did being assertive and bringing your whole self to work work out for James Damore?
- Sebguer 7y agoIf you're saying his 'whole self' was 'women are inherently inferior to me' than I'd say it worked out as it should have.
- zarkov99 7y agoCan you link to where he said that as specifically as possible? I have read his paper and it doesn't say that.
- zaroth 7y agoIs it simpler but less civil to just to call out an entirely false representation of Damore’s position, than to entertain it asking for evidence?
- zarkov99 7y agoThe hope is that people who are in good faith will look for the evidence and through their failure to find it come to change their views.

- Aeolun 7y agoWhy should this opinion (just for the sake of argument assuming that it is, which I don’t think) have any effect on his employment status if there were otherwise no problems?
- dang 7y agoPlease don't start this flamewar for the hundredth, at least, time. It's predictable and predictably nasty, the two things we most need to avoid here. https://news.ycombinator.com/newsguidelines.html https://news.ycombinator.com/newsguidelines.html
- the_duke 7y agoThis whole thread is a dumpster fire. Sadly most even remotely political topics have started to turn into one, even on HN. It's getting to the point where I wish moderators would just downrank such topics to position 20+ or outright ban them front the frontpage. Or at least slap some clear "POLITICAL" tag on it and give users a filter option.
