  The light should be going to the plants, not space?

    Look at the sides of the greenhouses, which are far brighter than the roofs. The light from the roof is only what's reflected off the plants. LEDs are quite directional.

      By definition, all the light you can see is light that isn't going to the plants - light reflected off the plants could still be redirected, right?
