The experience of a beginner with a certain tool is quite important. E.g, if Linux is not user friendly to newbies something could be done about that.
But some tools require expertise and a beginner might not get the entire picture yet. E.g, if someone with 1 year of physics experience claims Quantum Mechanics to be dumb, is that a valid opinion?
- okl 7y agoIt might be. Your point is that it's not worth your time to consider that someone's opinion.
- tjpnz 7y agoI'm not going to take any opinion seriously with a headline like that.
- djrobstep 7y agoThis isn't some conceptually difficult thing like quantum mechanics, it's something designed to make software easier to build. If it doesn't in fact do that for this person it's totally valid to mention that.
- Insanity 7y agoIt's valid to have an opinion on something, another thing is having a well-founded opinion. I love vim and my opinion is that it's better than Emacs. But I used VIM for a decade and Emacs for 6 months. Is anyone going to take my opinion on Emacs seriously, knowing that these tools take time to master?

- Insanity 7y agoTrue, and everyone is welcome to voice their opinion. I'd encourage that, but it still doesn't make it 'valid' for a larger audience. :)
