- imtringued 7y agoARM isn't going to license their GPUs to a competitor.
- microcolonel 7y agoAMD just announced a major license of their GPU tech to Samsung. Nvidia, Qualcomm, and other vendors have complete designs with their own GPUs. Vivante and Imagination would surely be glad to license their tech to smaller players.
- cmrdporcupine 7y agoPresumably if Huawei can't license an ARM core before of trade restrictions, they're not going to be able to license a GPU because of similar restrictions.
- microcolonel 7y agoMaybe Jingjia. Most GPU IP vendors are U.S, Korean, or broadly Western; so I can imagine it'd be difficult. It's not like they're having a more difficult time as a result of the host ISA. That's my main point.
