Static binaries help also being much more redistributable and hassle-free compared to dynamic linked ones (imagine all those DLLs, so or jar files around - search for DLL Hell or JAR Hell for instance)
- nikisweeting 7y agoMost optional plugin-style functionality can be toggled at runtime, and never has to be loaded into memory, why would including more optional modules in the default distribution affect performance?
