Business logic isn't going to be a large part of a programs size. Most space is used by static resources likes images, lookup-tables, and libraries for handling the former. People aren't cutting out features from their CLI programs to save a couple kilobytes.
- marcosdumay 7y agoHum... They are (specifically, cutting speed), as evidenced by the OP's link. Not that it matters with the low number involved.
- wademealing 7y agoI might be missing the point here, but larger binaries are not always slower.
- nikisweeting 7y agoCaddy and Nginx are both examples of common tools that cut tons of useful modules to save kilobytes, both require recompiling to get that functionality.
