Try not to take all advice... I think gp's suggestion was aimed at a target audience of "weird people", whereas your audience–as I understand it–is neurodiverse. They don't need "weird" or "crazy" things on the site to feel at home. Besides that, something _original_ or eye catching might be worth it. But that's something that requires excellent execution.
