The US suburbs with their hierarchical residential < collector < highway system were designed for cars, however most networks in the US city centers were designed before the invention of the car.
- Scoundreller 7y agoI feel like it has more to do with degree of urban planning. Even before the car, a horse and buggy can get through a city faster arranged in a grid withoug having to turn a lot.
