- rolltiide 7y agoThis is the kind of logic I use on my astrology subscribed mates Women so surprised I’m not immediately ridiculing their belief system that they listen to my rationale on basically anything, as long as its tied to a sun, moon and rising sign. Your idea could work as long as you get a Hawaiian spiritual influencer to say it for you
- King-Aaron 7y agoWhy is it just women that are surprised?
- rolltiide 7y agoBecause I dont engage in this kind of smalltalk with men, and the ones I’m around don’t talk about astrology and don't subscribe to having an external locus of control Talking about an obscure astrological concept is a decent pickup line or opener, with women if you are interested in women and you’ll need to do a different study to figure out if men care. You’ll get a stronger reaction from people that are interested in astrology, and the ones that don't believe will laugh quizzically and not think more of it. In both circumstances you switch to deeper topics. In mixed company stick with being an astrology shaman because the one that is into it will have a stronger positive reaction, no use undermining that just to maintain consensus.
- TheSpiceIsLife 7y agoHave you ever thought about what it is, exactly, you are doing here?
- turk73 7y agoSounds like he's probably banging a whole lot of hot, crazy chicks.
- JulianMorrison 7y agoHow about you have a shred of respect for the people whose sacred land it is and whose understanding defines what's acceptable use? Rather than being a selfish, arrogant colonialist.
- esyir 7y agoYeah, no. There are many conflicting beliefs and values held and no way to keep everyone happy. You don't avoid beef because it's a sacred animal to Hindus. And if your attitude and approach reflects that of the protestors, then that certainly helps mine move towards "fuck them".
- JulianMorrison 7y agoColonizers gonna colonize. I don't believe your "oh you weren't nice to me, this justifies my arrogance", you'd feel justified anyway. But you aren't.
- lagadu 7y agoI think it's pretty funny that you use "colonizer" like it has a negative connotation.
- JadeNB 7y ago> I think it's pretty funny that you use "colonizer" like it has a negative connotation. Is your point that you don't think it has a negative connotation, or that nobody thinks it does? Although 'colonialist' evokes a more visceral negative reaction from me, 'colonizer' is pretty close.
- provolone 7y agoThink about infant mortality, sanitation or historical practices like suttee.

- faissaloo 7y agoI presume they have some sort of source of truth for this stuff like a religious scripture or oral tradition, but this should be obvious and I fail to see how you could have missed it.
