Not really, occasional merge conflicts are par for the course with Dropbox. Never seen one after switching to Google drive with Insync. Dropbox is very inflexible, for example doesn't even let you choose your own folder name, doesn't work well when syncing across case-sensitive (Linux) and case-insensitive (Windows) file systems. It was a sucky experience overall. I am relieved I don't have to use it at work anymore.
