Zero Hedge is reporting that Iran seized two tankers (and says Trump also tweeted so though I can’t see that tweet).
> Iran has seized a second tanker, as ship-tracking data used by Bloomberg has identified a second oil tanker, the Mesdar, which has turned toward the Iranian Coast. According to Bloomberg, the Mesdar is Liberian-flagged, 315,800 dwt crude tanker, which was Headed to Ras Tanura from Malaysia before turning toward Iran coast Friday.
- gowld 7y agoThis post's linked BBC article says the same (possibly updated since first submission) Article title is now "Iran seizes two UK tankers in Strait of Hormuz" Also: > The Iranian Revolutionary Guard-affiliated news agency said the tanker was seized for breaking three regulations: shutting down its GPS; going through the exit of the Strait of Hormuz rather than the entrance; and ignoring warnings. I'm sure there's plenty of grandstanding and fact-bending in this Iran-US-UK situation... Is "going through the exit of the Strait of Hormuz rather than the entrance" something that can be independently verified by publicly-available satellite or transponder monitoring?
