I sadly can offer no advice, but only thanks. I'm using this story as an excuse to check my backups as it's been far too long to know whether they're still going, or are recoverable.
Scary stuff.
- davidmurdoch 7y agoUnfortunately I used G Suite for pretty much all of my photos backups, document storage, etc for as long has G Suite/GApps has been around. Used 2FA and strong passwords on all accounts, etc... It never occurred to me that I needed to protect against an attacker who is just the sleep-deprived version of myself.
