C won't have slow dev time, assuming that experienced devs are writing the code. There are a ton of abstractions directly accessible from C, and lots of people know them really well.
C might not be fastest though. Rust can make more optimizations than C for example. Fortran is often faster than C too.
- seanmcdirmid 7y agoC programmers have to spend more work writing and maintaining a line of code given its low level focus; if you substitute in experienced programmers you might as well do that for the other languages as well.
