- pbhjpbhj 7y agoSo, basically, "I don't understand irony so everyone must be evil"?
- faissaloo 7y agoIt's more so the case that dogwhistling and irony have a very blurry line.
- fastball 7y agoI'm unconvinced that "dog-whistling" is something worth worrying about.
- faissaloo 7y agoThat's ok, reality doesn't require your input.
- fastball 7y agoDespite your rudeness, I'll remind you that the burden of proof that "dog-whistles are worth worrying about" is not on me. It's an intriguing concept, but the negative impacts of such behavior (as well as if it actually even exists) needs to be proven, not assumed.
- objectivetruth 7y agoBurden of proof? Nah, we're not in court, those of us on board the reality bus don't really care if you come along for the ride. Some cursory Googling did return some academic results on this, so I bet you could find the info that most of us take as CLEAR evidence of human nature.
- Can_Not 7y agoThere's a ton of research and discussion out there, checkout the Alt Right Playbook video series on YouTube to help you get up to date with everyone else.
- fastball 7y agoI've watched all of the "Alt Right Playbook" videos and don't remember 'research' that went beyond "I've noticed people doing this thing and here is why I think they're doing it". The actual tangible impact of such behaviors, as far as I'm aware, has not been properly studied.
- whenchamenia 7y agoYou must be fun at parties. Jokes are jomes, and irony is humor.
