Hard to feel too bad about people working on leisure products.
I'm sure if you swapped out Golf/NASCAR, people here would be less sympathetic.
- tomc1985 8y ago> Hard to feel too bad about people working on leisure products. How does that make any difference? It's not like the work is any less hard, or more fun.
- ben-schaaf 8y agoIf the work was less fun, or at least less desired, then the wages and hours would match the rest of the software industry.
- tomc1985 8y agoThe work is desired because kids grow up with dreams to make videogames, not because it is easy, or fun. Very few of them pay attention to industry conditions until it is too late. Very common in aspirational careers
- KilledByAPixel 8y agoI've watched lives literally be ruined by this industry. Why is it hard to feel bad for them just because they were doing what they loved and got shit on?
- toomuchequate 8y agoThat sounds like the person's own problem. If they can't keep work-life creep, they don't understand their own value.
