The story I heard was that the patients were complaining about the psychedelic effects :D It was really interesting to watch "Combat Medics", a show about med-evac choppers for the US armed forces in afghanistan. One of the first things they do with bad cases is give them a shot of ketamine. So in addition to calling K disparagingly "cat tranquilizer" and "horse tranquilizer", we should call it "marine tranquilizer".
