      NetBSD has been running on toasters since 2005. It's just a matter of porting some kind of PI software to it.

    I wasn't present, but when my step-brother went to visit his grandmother who was still living (alone) at her home and always prepared meals for visits one time they arrived just in time to stop her from pouring frying oil in the toaster (in order to bake "french" fries), as she confused the toaster for the fryer...
