Exactly this. Anakin was a child slave and when he was “rescued” by a fundamentalist religious order for indoctrination they left his mother behind to die. Any one of us in his position would have destroyed the Old Republic too.

      Which is crazy, right? Moff gets strangled using The Force by Darth Vader right after he says that. How the hell does he not think it's real? If the Pope came up to you and threatened fire and brimstone, and a fkng fiery meteorite hit you in the head that same moment, would you not believe in Catholicism?

        I suppose he could believe that midichlorians are a thing that gives telepathic/telekinetic powers without believing that they are sentient and have a will, whereas the Jedi do believe the latter

Vader didn't have the plans, did he?
