That's actually interesting, I wonder where you are, because I was in freakin' NYC last year and every store STILL didn't even take chip cards, much less tap. D

That's actually interesting, I wonder where you are, because I was in freakin' NYC last year and every store STILL didn't even take chip cards, much less tap. Don't even get me started on having to deal with pennies ;)
- kasey_junk 8y agoChicago. Most of the time I get swipes now it’s on square or one of the other old style mobile apps.
- sontek 8y agoI'm in Puerto Rico and almost all of shops that take card take chip. I feel like you may have been frequenting some odd places if you were having a hard time finding chip in NYC :P
- akvadrako 8y agoWhat does Puerto Rico have to do with chip in NYC ? Americans have one of the most antiquated banking systems in the world.
- Frondo 8y agoPuerto Rico is a part of America, just not a state; Puerto Ricans are American citizens.
- akvadrako 8y agoOf course but how is that relevant? Lots of places in the US don’t have chip and pin. Just because PR does means little about NYC.
- sontek 8y agoNYC is by all accounts ahead technologically of PR. PR has had this technology for awhile. Its been a long time since I've been anywhere in the US that didn't accept chip.
- irrational 8y agoI'm in the Portland Oregon Metro area. I've yet to come across a store or restaurant that doesn't accept Apple Pay.
