Isn't the question whether or not you believe that a vehicle that claims to be L4 truly is L4?
- marcosdumay 8y agoIf the manufacturer claims your vehicle is L4 (and even goes to the extent of not adding a steering wheel), then for liability purposes it ought to be L4. It may fail in practice, but the claim is all that should matter in court. Yet, I'm sure somebody somewhere is going to be thrown into the lions for protecting some rich company. So I'm certainly not going to be one of the first to buy one.
- zepearl 8y agoDo standard tests/certifications exist that grant certain L1/2/3/4/5 levels? (something like e.g. Euro X or WLTP) I don't think so (never heard of) but I might be wrong. I can imagine that they would be very complex to create.
