Considering that he went out of his way to express his opinion (calling it a "fraud" and "con"), it'd be funny if he sits this one out.

I think his skepticism was warranted. It bothered me as well, that the demonstration was so controlled.

Fox didn’t say directly whether he regretted it. "We thought of the demo at I/O as much more of a technology demo, whereas what you see here is much more of the product side of the technology," Fox said. So it's still not clear how edited or set up that call was at I/O. You can hear in the released video the voice is not as polished as the example at I/O, and also from the Wired article, you can see how easily the AI is tripped up. I don't think he needs to eat his hat yet.
