Chromecast support took much more time to implement than we originally expected, that was probably the major reason for the delay.
- agumonkey 9y agoundocumented protocol or overly complex ?
- etix 9y agoWe had to redesign a new kind of module called a renderer that has some weird capabilities and of course the Chromecast being kind of undocumented didn't help.
- pbhjpbhj 9y agoIs there a good reason for Google not to help vlc, as it's making the Chromecast more accessible? Chromecast doesn't seem that innovative?
- bubblethink 9y agoChromecast isn't free software. You need google sdk, which obviously a project like vlc can't use.
