- NicoJuicy 9y agoStripe "is"/"was" also European :)
- adventured 9y agoStripe has never been European, it was always headquartered and operated out of the US. It'd be like claiming that SpaceX is South African. https://www.startupgrind.com/blog/the-collison-brothers-and-story-behind-the-founding-of-stripe/ https://www.startupgrind.com/blog/the-collison-brothers-and-...
- pulse7 9y agoAnd that Amazon is Portuguese...
- loooooooooooool 9y agoNão entendi essa...
- traek 9y ago? As far as I can tell, the founders are Irish but the company has always been American.
- NicoJuicy 9y agoOw ok. Perhaps because they where Irish, I remembered it differently
- whoisjuan 9y agoAdyen is older and it seems to have a larger banking footprint when compared to Stripe. Also, they seem to have a lot of experience in several international markets besides Europe.
- contingencies 9y agoMaybe for tax reasons ... https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dutch_Sandwich https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dutch_Sandwich ... just because Ayden is based in Holland doesn't mean they bill there. For example Skype bills via Luxembourg.
