- ekianjo 9y agoThat's visionary. Actually the Simpsons got lucky with several of their goofy predictions, it's always amusing after the fact.
- amelius 9y agoCan we have a list of mispredictions?
- greesil 9y ago"Smell you later" replacing "goodbye"
- emodendroket 9y agoYou aren't using that one?
- jamiethompson 9y agoI know I am
- emodendroket 9y agoI genuinely do, occasionally. Which reminds me, I went through this goofy dictionary.com slideshow of "great slang from the '90s we should bring back!" and quite a few of them I did not recognize as the least bit dated. Kind of an alienating experience.
- LeoNatan25 9y agoWith global warming, it's not far off.
- lostcolony 9y agoNo. Because unless we know the world ends tomorrow, or they're explicitly dated, there's always time for them to become accurate.

- klenwell 9y agoMay go deeper than we think. Saw this yesterday: https://twitter.com/hailbotsghost/status/827162230974078979 https://twitter.com/hailbotsghost/status/827162230974078979 Anybody else get the feeling Kirsten Gillibrand has seen the Simpsons prophecies and is taking them very seriously?
- jandrese 9y agoBut they assumed that a President Trump would put the country in a huge debt hole, and the Republicans have assured us that their enormous giveway to billionaires would cause the economy to grow by 3% annually for the next 10 years, just like every other time that policy has completely failed to do that.
- phkahler 9y agoTomacco plants!
- eloisant 9y agoThe thing is the Simpsons did so many episodes, and so many predictions that they are bound to get some of them true. The Simpsons is basically an illustration of the infinite monkey theorem.
