To the extent data breaches are only committed by external bad guys it’s fine. If hacking a competitor causes a user visible flag, there is now incentive.
- ygjb 9y agoHow is a breach from a competitor, who is doing it for financial motives, different from an "external bad guy" who is doing it for financial motives?
- ajcodez 9y agoIt's a little different because the competitor does not want the digital assets being hacked, but rather just wants the hack to be on record.
- reitanqild 9y agoHopefully this will also be an incentive for website owners to let developers spend time on security to avoid getting hacked.
- Dylan16807 9y agoThat could happen from any measure that makes people care about breaches. But I want people to care about breaches. I think it's worth the risk.
