How would this work if you wear a burka for example (without having to "downgrade" to using a passcode, when the real alternative would have just been TouchID)? Or am I missing something... genuinely curious.
- oflannabhra 9y agoFaceID will be incompatible with burqas, just like TouchID is incompatible with gloves.
- jagger27 9y agoWhat about an IR transparent burqa?
- MBCook 9y agoDo those exist?
- Shank 9y agoAhoy, a new market!
- oflannabhra 9y agoFaceID uses a combination of IR and visible light. So, theoretically, if you had a perfectly EMR-transparent burqa, it would not interfere with FaceID. Although an EMR-transparent burqa might not even qualify as a burqa anymore.
- MBCook 9y agoDoes it use visible light? If it’s supposed to work in total darkness that seems like a problem.
