  Probably something to do with "dough" being a metonym for money? Really contrived and silly, though. They could've just made it monochromatic with a huge Venmo logo on it.

  Maybe because it's an homonym to John Doe. Sounds like a programmer joke to me. Some kind of "image placeholder".
