Blockchain Project | Backend Dev, Frontend Dev, Application Security Engineer, DevOps | Remote | Full-time | $160k-$200k
Hi! we are a couple of fellow HNers launching a new cryptocurrency-based project. We don’t even have the name yet! We’re in ideation and architecting phase and we’ll be building from the ground up a project similar to funfair.io, but without the ICO part. This means we'll need help with everything!: architectural decisions, devops workflows, games state sync design, security (WAF, IDS, etc).
Frontend Hypewords: React, Redux, RxJS, Webpack
Backend Hypewords: NodeJS, GraphQL/Apollo, Deepstream, RethinkDB, Redis, Kubernetes, Bitcoin, Ethereum
Requisites:
- 4+ years of hands-on experience
- Ability to learn quickly new stacks and technologies
Bonus points:
- Strong maths
- Degree or PhD (CS or similar fields)
- Experience with bitcoin/crypto
Perks:
- 100% remote position
- 40h/week organised as you prefer
- No hard deadlines (goodbye stress!)
- The best teammates ever
If you are interested send me your CV (email in my profile) and let's chat about it!
Cheers!
- drazvan 9y agoSent an email, no reply yet, I guess you're flooded with applications.
- wakkaflokka 9y agoThis looks like an incredible position. Too bad you don't need a data scientist! :)
- batuhanicoz 9y agoMay I ask if which time zones you prefer? I was going to ping you via e-mail but this could help other potential applicants too.
- joeyspn 9y agoSome hours of overlap with GMT/London would be nice, but not necessary... we're fine with any location.
- ob1gman 9y agoapplying now. :)
- dhanush 9y agoApplied!
- chi17 9y agoIs it a new cryptocurrency, or a new project based on an existing cryptocurrency?
- joeyspn 9y agoGood question. We'll build on top of the king (BTC) or queen (ETH). We could start with plain BTC or ETH to speed things ups, and issue an ERC20 (ETH) or RSK-based token (BTC) down the road. But we're not into the pump and dump thing and we want to be 200% compliant. So we'll have to analyse this move carefully. We're also very open to new ideas and input from the new members.
- coinculture 9y agoHave you considered using Tendermint? We just published the results of a few months of Jepsen testing: https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=15175984 https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=15175984
- nathan_f77 9y agoWow, that's a super high salary for a startup. Are you also giving some equity?
- joeyspn 9y agoNot exactly, but you can choose to be paid partly/fully in bitcoin, which is the best performing "stock" in 6 of the past 7 years (and could potentially keep performing as the number one for some years).
- noway421 9y agothe underlying mechanisms of that performance are hardly known and controllable, or even predictable, so that's nothing less but suggesting to play a lottery with your earnings.
- thecrazyone 9y agoreading this I'm happy the OP didn't say they would pay the salary in the new crypto currency they were tasking you to create :)
