I enjoy living in terminal. I'm very mediocre with both find and grep but I'm getting better and it makes me feel cool ;-), heh.
- stuntkite 9y agoWith textexpander, grep, sed, awk, and xargs I macro my way around most of the issues. If you haven't tried TE I highly recommend it. I found it when I started to suffer from some repetitive strain injuries that look like carpal tunnel last year. Being hobbled has actually improved my output!
- givinguflac 9y agoFWIW, I've never had that issue. Are you aware it sets the view type for each folder? It makes sense if you want to view different files in different ways. If you want to set all views to list system wide, you can set list as default in the view menu. Depending how you've set other folders you may need to nuke view settings, by it sounds like that won't be an issue for you. Spend a minute to learn how your tools work man. https://howchoo.com/g/mzuxyjqyzmy/how-to-set-the-view-options-for-all-finder-windows-in-os-x https://howchoo.com/g/mzuxyjqyzmy/how-to-set-the-view-option...
