- amelius 9y agoSign shouldn't matter for an ID; it works as long as the ID is unique. So I think the real limit would be a factor of 2 higher.
- lucb1e 9y agoPHP uses 64-bit integers on 64-bit systems. Of course they have some compiled variant of PHP which might do anything...
- TazeTSchnitzel 9y agoThey scrapped the compiling to C++ part long ago, HipHop is now HHVM.
- lucb1e 9y ago/me duckduckgo's that Hmm, JIT but only to bytecode it seems, not to machine code. Interesting!
- mcast 9y agoI'm fairly certain they would have designed and kept the Earth's actual and expected population in mind with their scaling.
- TazeTSchnitzel 9y agoIf they're using auto-incrementing IDs, they will have broke past that number some time ago. 2bn is monthly active users, which implies there's many dead or inactive accounts.
