Just curious, how did you do the inflation adjustment?

  I'd guess using something like http://www.wolframalpha.com/input/?i=inflation+rate+in+US+from+1980+to+2000 http://www.wolframalpha.com/input/?i=inflation+rate+in+US+fr... to establish a mean rate and then using "compound interest" formula?
