How is this a functional laptop? And I'm being dead serious here and 100% literal - how do I work with this machine while it's on my lap? It looks like it would be a real pain in the ass to do so, with the "Kickstand" and all.
- thesuitonym 9y agoIt's not a functional laptop. Putting a Surface on your lap is the worst experience you'll ever have. But as a portable Windows 10 device, my Surface Pro 1 is one of my favorite devices.
- passive 9y agoI don't know what kind of laps other people have, but I'm decidedly average in every way, physically, and I use my SP3 on my lap every day. Usually it's on a table or desk, but it's fine on my lap too.
- seanmcdirmid 9y agoIt is completely lapable, but typing on keyboard without anything underneath is a bit weird. I hope they upgrade the SurfaceBook next.
- robotresearcher 9y ago> Putting a Surface on your lap is the worst experience you'll ever have. If true, that would be a wonderful life.
- rhodysurf 9y agoThe Surface Pro 3 and on are completely different to use on your lap than the first and second gens.
- fumar 9y agoI use the SP3 on my lap every day, its my work PC. Actually the kickstand works as an anchor when I cross my legs and stays fixed. Suggest you try it in person.
- stunod 9y agothere's a separate keyboard you can buy that makes it "lapable" https://www.brydgekeyboards.com/products/brydge-12-3 https://www.brydgekeyboards.com/products/brydge-12-3
- vxNsr 9y agoI don't get why they don't use the regular surface pro keyboard connector and offer extra ports and battery life, especially based on how much space is being used. It literally doubles the thickness while only offering a keyboard. If they did that it would justify the cost and thickness, as it is this just not worth it.
