Ask HN: Anyone from Edinburgh?
Will be moving to Edinburgh in the next few months and wanted to get connected to some folks.
- t90fan 9y agoI am. Lots of us about, mostly work in Banking.
- zerr 9y agoSimilarly to London, is it possible to get 6-figure salary? (in a finance sector of course)
- ruairidhwm 9y agoYes
- zerr 9y agoI mean non-manager engineering - sounds good if that's the case.
- ruairidhwm 9y agoOh right, sorry! Yeah I imagine it exists but couldn't point at any tangible examples.
- tixocloud 9y agoYeah, I was looking around and it seems like banks are pretty popular. What's the banking culture like? I'm curious as I'm in banking as well but doing credit card analytics and being the bridge between the business and technology teams. Also found something curious. There was a job posting for a senior analyst position but it's considered a VP-level role?
- ruairidhwm 9y agoI'm from there and it's an amazing city. Loads of tech meetups etc. Feel free to ping me an email and I'd happily intro you to some people. I'm in Madrid atm but will be back in Edinburgh one day :)
- tixocloud 9y agoAwesome. Lucky you! Thanks, I'd love to meet up when we're both in Edinburgh. I'll shoot you an intro email and perhaps we can go from there?
- ruairidhwm 9y agoSounds good - will look out for your email :)
- tixocloud 9y agoSent you a note :)
