New pilots are receiving less hands on flying instruction and are heavilly drilled in following the procedures to the letter(this is not an exageration). It's like a theater play, like the blind obedience and spit and polish of the navy. So assets that are extremely useful become a problem when something goes out of the script. It's hard to maintain the equilibrium, and we have yet to swing the pendulum in the other direction.
