- Neliquat 10y agoWhile I seriously doubt this is the case here, there is precedent for such things. See the FBI led TOR sting for example. However 'darknet'=/=Facebook.

- lozf 10y agoI'm pretty sure that images could be removed from public view yet still provided to the authorities along with any logs pertaining to their upload, to facilitate tracking.
- MaxfordAndSons 10y agoI was thinking something similar. Though I doubt it would be an "order" in the case of a child abuse sting, it seems possible that the initial response was so tepid because there were competing motivations within FB to maintain cooperation on a sting vs. be responsive to the BBC.
