- chc 10y agoWe don't know what else life looks like, so we can't really look for it.
- smilliken 10y agoOne strategy: look for unexpected order/pockets of low entropy. If you find some matter organized in a way that's unlikely by pure chance, that's a good lead.
- Larrikin 10y agoThat's one of the ways they are searching for life. It's starting to show it's age but A Pale Blue Dot is still an excellent read
- ycombinete 10y agoSounds good. But how would such things present?
- kobeya 10y agoPlease don't spread misinformation on things you know nothing about. This is a very well studied field, where people are making very reasonable attempts at correcting for Earth biases. For more information I suggest reading information available at websites such as this: http://astrobiology.nasa.gov/ http://astrobiology.nasa.gov/
- dmritard96 10y agoI tend to agree and think its a bit unfair to downvote this. Why must life exist with organics molecules? Who would have expected arsenic based life (I don'think many would call this organic): http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2010/12/02/AR2010120204183.html http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2010/12...
- robinduckett 10y agoThe arsenic based life was proven to be shoddy research: http://www.nature.com/news/arsenic-life-bacterium-prefers-phosphorus-after-all-1.11520 http://www.nature.com/news/arsenic-life-bacterium-prefers-ph...
