Why, Nintendo?
- actuator 10y agoWell, seems like they are following the industry in this. You need Xbox Live Gold to play multiplayer on Xbox.
- joshschreuder 10y agoSame with Playstation multiplayer as of this gen (PS4). The obvious answer would be that multiplayer servers cost money to run.
- lightedman 10y agoA more obvious answer would be "Bring back the ability to host our own servers in-game, the hardware is obviously powerful enough."
- mathw 10y agoBecause maybe this time it'll let them do a proper online infrastructure? These things aren't free, something Microsoft put in up front from the start and theirs is now ridiculously solid. Nintendo are apparently working with DeNA on this (as well as on the smartphone games) so hopefully it'll be worth the money.
