If the ACA had sought to create a competitive market between the consumer and the provider instead of between the consumer and the insurer, it would have been a truly revolutionary leap forward.
Instead, we got entitlement expansion.

- MBCook 10y agoIt got A LOT more people covered. It made it so you don't have to worry about losing coverage when you switch jobs due to pre-existing conditions. No, it wasn't real reform. They could've allowed you to shop for plans offered in other states for example. But it was a truly useful step forward for TONS of people.
