1. Hello Streisand effect.
2. Does anyone else hope semi-anonymous apps like this will lead to a new age of unionization?
- danharaj 10y agoYes, in particular I hope that apps enable more autonomous, directly democratic, distributed unions that are more resistant to capture by union bureaucrats and management.
- toomuchtodo 10y ago2. More than you can imagine. Technology should be bringing an end to sharecropping, not further increasing economic inequality.
- nullc 10y agoI should have a pony.
- toomuchtodo 10y agoI ain't got time for defeatist or libertarian attitudes (see handle). The future is what we make of it.
- kabdib 10y agoUnclear; Wal-mart or other hugecorps can make fake apps that suck people in just like other fake apps. Guess the wrong app, get a "union" bit set in your employee profile.
- jlarocco 10y agoJudging by the information they're collecting, there's nothing anonymous or "semi-anonymous" about this app.
- douche 10y agoWhat a way for corporations to infiltrate budding labor organizations, though. Cynical-me expects a rash of fakes and knock-offs where any data input in the app goes straight to HR.
- cmdrfred 10y agoSounds like a good business model. Email employers "One of your workers is attempting to unionize, pay us $300 and we will tell you who!"
