More like "Dude and the whole leftist intellectual elite are wrong on the Internet, will never acknowledge being wrong and will be wrong again the next time the same thing happens. News at 11."
- tptacek 10y agoHow seriously am I supposed to take someone who implies that the leader of a "leftist intellectual elite" (whatever that is) is Michael Moore?
- oh_sigh 10y agoWhere did OP imply that MM was the leader of the leftist intellectual elite?
- andrenth 10y agoI have never implied that.
- tptacek 10y agoI think you did. It's hard to imagine why you'd have cited Michael Moore in the same breath as "leftist intellectual elite" otherwise. How credible would I sound talking about a right-wing intellectual elite after referencing something Ann Coulter had said? Because that's who Michael Moore is: the Ann Coulter of the left.
- andrenth 10y agoBecause 1) the GP referred to a Michael Moore twit and 2) the leftist intellectual elite did support Chavez. I have never claimed Michael Moore belongs to the intellectual elite, much less that he somehow leads it. Both have supported Chavez and therefore I have mentioned both "in the same breath".
- tptacek 10y agoThe "leftist intellectual elite" did not support Chavez.
- atmosx 10y agoI think Chomsky is more appropriate, although the leader? I don't know... There is a raise of leftists (at least in speech because in substance from Sanders to Corbyn there so much "left", rather a mild "right")
