I encourage you to spend some time perusing NASA Spinoffs: https://spinoff.nasa.gov/ https://spinoff.nasa.gov/ Granted, NASA is slowly turning into a regulatory agency compared to being purely technical, so we can't use the rate of technical advancements in the past to predict the future. However, I think NASA is one of the handful of federal agencies where I stand to see tangible benefits from my tax dollars.
