They completely left out that Google has a lot of Waze data (50 million users)
- kevin_b_er 10y agoThis is because the statement is utterly deceptive. They're comparing miles driven with an uber app being on vs google's autonomous car driving miles. It would've been a much better comparison to compare uber app miles with waze or google maps. They probably don't because that comparison would not fit with their goal of attacking google.

- monocasa 10y agoUber also bought all of the data from Bing Maps, and hand categorizing the lot of it. I'm sure Google is doing something similar with their maps data.
- kilroy123 10y agoVery true. People don't realize how popular waze is, in other countries. In some countries, no on uses Google Maps, only waze.
- jonknee 10y agoAnd Google Maps which has hundreds of millions of users. You won't beat Google by having access to more information.
