Helium balloons are far from permanent. Helium leaks/leeches out.
- amelius 10y agoHow about hydrogen? Yes, dangerous, but perhaps acceptable for an unmanned aircraft.
- xkcd-sucks 10y agoHydrogen really isn't all that bad. It's used lots in industry/academia as a process gas, in normal rooms, in processes that involve high temperatures, mixtures of chemicals etc.
- njharman 10y agoIt leaks out too, even more so I believe.
