Check out Virtual Desktop

That just draws a desktop onto a big texture. Plus it only runs on Windows.

A metaphor I'm taking to calling "WIMP-Splat": Windows-Icons-Menus-Pointers, splatted onto the inside of a cylinder. The vast majority of VR apps right now are WIMP-Splat interfaces. And it's kind of awful. The few that aren't are a revelation. Tilt Brush and Fantastic Contraption come to mind. Just brilliant UX in both.

What would you like to see? I want this too. I decided not to spend time writing it, because of Virtual Desktop. Maybe I'll reconsider.
