Yes, this is true, and surprising to me as well. For certain products, the pricing + shipping is not at all competitive (toiletries, for example). In many other categories, there might be a product with a nominal price of, say, $10 offered by dozens of different merchants, at more or less every combination of price + shipping from $0.50 + $9.50 up to $10 + $0 imaginable. It's a huge waste of the consumer's time, you'd think they'd be better off either providing sensible pricing for a category, or not carrying it at all. Needless to say, it's nowhere near as much a go-to provider as it was 4-5 years ago.
