I think this reasoning is missing something.
The maths assumes that the security of your system is entirely defined by the complexity of your key.
Obscurity gives you the option of hiding the /lock/, which is different.

- marcosdumay 10y agoI think you should read my comment again. Anyway, hiding your lock is additive (spreading fake locks would be multiplicative). How many bits of entropy does your lock obscurity have again? What does it cost?
