I hope irc can support inline images especially for web clients.
- betaby 10y agoYes. In fact anything.
- ausjke 10y agoThen I don't see any reason why XMPP can not be used widely nowadays. Just installed xabber on my Android and am going to set up a team server.
- ausjke 10y agohttp://getkaiwa.com/ http://getkaiwa.com/ some good info on xmpp on that page. most xmpp client still show inline-image via http-url, I failed to find any xmpp client that can natively insert an inline image just like what other popular IM messengers do these days.
- e12e 10y agoLast I used xmpp to any degree, embedded multimedia worked fine across clients. IRC can't really do multimedia in a sane/safe way over http or otherwise. But you can of course link (insert a http link) and the client can try do be as smart as it wants about it. I would think allowing the embedding of data:urls and just displaying them in-line in a Web client would be asking for security issues. I'm sure there are some IRC Web clients that supports that ;)
