I haven't used Erlang but I've been using Elixir daily for the past 5 months. Coming from Scala, it has been wonderful with pattern matching everywhere the syntax is very easy to get used to. The Elixir docs are very amazing as well as many of the core/common libraries. Phoenix is not excluded either. The performance of the framework is amazing as well as how simple and productive the framework is. The Elixir community as a whole is great.
