- kawsper 11y agoThe "Bench rename to Bank" back-and-forth renamings look pretty interesting.
- planb 11y agoThat's easy to explain I think: In german "Bank" means "bench" as well as "bank", so there's quite a bit potential for confusion.
- legulere 11y agoBank and bench have the same origin: proto germanic *bankiz meaning bench. The first european banks were actually just people sitting on benches in Italy doing the business. Thus banks took on the name bank. In some languages like Dutch or German the word for bench and bank are the same: bank/Bank
- ZeroGravitas 11y agoCould be an automated tool that had a bug, just chose the wrong item from a list?
- pbhjpbhj 11y agoMaybe the roofs of swimming pools look like graveyards to some computer vision system - someone ran a building profiling algo that miscategorised them?
- maxerickson 11y agoIt could be a very small number of transitions. The most typical change to something tagged "amenity=swimming_pool" will be to "leisure=swimming_pool", which looking at http://matiasdahl.github.io/osm-tag-dynamics/index.html?amenity=swimming_pool http://matiasdahl.github.io/osm-tag-dynamics/index.html?amen... are not included in the analysis. Such are the joys of folksonomy, it was "decided" that leisure was a meaningfully different and better namespace for swimming pools.
