- atmosx 11y agoThis more drastic. The email is tricky, you could have subscribed to their service using your 15-years old hotmail account that you never use anymore.
- userbinator 11y agoI was thinking the same thing - a nontrivial effort has clearly been spent on implementing this, and it certainly would not be well-received by most if not all of its customers.
- wmf 11y agoBeing sued by Hollywood for a billion dollars and passing those costs on to their customers wouldn't be well-received either.
- austerity 11y agoIs there a reason to believe such case would have a chance of succeeding? I thought DMCA clearly protects the ISP as long as they forward the complaints to the offending customer?
- hayksaakian 11y agoisn't comcast owned by NBC? that means they have a distinct corporate interest in protecting their IP (legitimate or not is another discussion).
- virtuallynathan 11y agoPeople don't check their email, some don't know they have a comcast email, and most don't give an alternate.
- seanwilson 11y agoSurely they have the customer's postal address?
